Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Utah 2001
M.W. Brother Doelfs was born July 5, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Norman and Ruth Doelfs. He was educated in the public schools of Cleveland, Ohio, graduating from John Adams High School in June 1968. After serving in the U.S. Army for two years, including tours at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, and the Republic of South Viet Nam, he returned to Cleveland and attended Cleveland State University on the GI Bill.
Diane Noel Schultz became his bride on October 21, 1972, in Cleveland, Ohio. They have one son, Michael, who is a law student at Temple University in Philadelphia.
Brother Doelfs started his Masonic career in Summit Lodge No. 213 in Twinsburg, Ohio, on September 19, 1974. He was passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on December 17, 1974, and raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on March 11,1975.
White Motor Corporation transferred Pete, Diane, and Mike to Ogden, Utah, in 1981. Peter affiliated with Gateway Lodge No. 29 in 1986 and served as Worshipful Master in 1990. He transferred his Scottish Rite membership to Utah and became active in the Degree work. In 1995, Brother Doelfs was invested with the Rank and Decoration of Knight Commander of the Court of Honor and in 2000 was elected to receive the 330 in October 2001at Charleston, South Carolina. He served as Master of Kadosh of Utah Consistory in 2000.
Brother Doelfs was created a Noble in EI Kalah Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S. in 1986 and served as President of the Klunkers Unit in 1989. Dad Doelfs has served Utah DeMolay in various capacities since 1986 and is currently serving as an Active Member of the International Supreme Council and Executive Officer in Utah.
Companion and Sir Knight Doelfs joined the Ogden York Rite Bodies in 1986 and has served as High Priest, Illustrious Master, and Commander. He has been inducted into Utah Priory No. 47 K.Y.C.H., Bonneville Conclave Red Cross of Constantine, Petra Tabernacle H.R.A.K.T.P, Camp Floyd York Rite College of Utah, and the Royal Order of Scotland. He is currently serving Ogden York Rite as the Eye Foundation Committee Chairman and Captain of the Host.
Most Worshipful Brother Doelfs was appointed to the Grand Lodge of Utah in September 1993 by Grand Master Larry A. Fairclough to fill the term of Worshipful Brother Walter G. Everett who passed away in May of that year. He was elected Junior Grand Warden in 1998 and was elected and installed Grand Master at the 129m Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge on February 3rd, 2001.
