Warm Fraternal Greetings,
I hope this newsletter finds you all in good health and great spirits. There are several Masonic events to enjoy in May worth mentioning. On May 19th, El Kalah Shrine will be having their ceremonial and we’re really looking forward to this event as it should be very successful. I am aware of quite a few new Master Masons who are not yet Shriners and it’s not too late to send in a petition if you or a Master Mason you know is interested in joining this wonderful organization. On May 26th, the annual Camp Floyd Master Mason degree will be conducted by the members of Wasatch Lodge in period costumes at the historic site and is really worthwhile. The next day, Sunday, May 27th, the annual Masonic Youth Day at Lagoon will take place, beginning at 11:00 a.m. See the attached flyer for details. I encourage everyone to get their discount tickets and enjoy a day of food, fun, sun and thrill rides.
Other Important Dates and Events
June 29 - Grand Lodge Table Lodge, Ogden Masonic Temple - In remembrance of our Masonic patron saint, St. John the Baptist, Grand Lodge will be conducting a Table Lodge; Friday, June 29th, 7 pm at the Ogden Masonic Temple. This promises to be an excellent evening of fellowship, and the annual occasion is one that should be marked and celebrated by all Masons. Cost is $35; and includes dinner, libations and a souvenir toasting cannon - especially made for the occasion. Menu TBA. Please make your reservations, no later than June 15th, to the Grand Lodge office; or to Bro. July 19-21 – Rocky Mountain Masonic Conference, Boomtown, NV – This conference is open to all Masons and their families. Email Frank Baker Frank.Baker@slcc.edu Grand Marshall, for registration forms and details for this informative and enjoyable conference.
August 24-25 – Utah Masonic Leadership Academy, Salt Lake Hilton (Downtown) – This is going to be the Warden’s Retreat, supercharged. In addition to the leaders of our Blue Lodges in attendance, officers and members from other Masonic Family organizations will have an opportunity to participate in topics common to all of our groups as well as those subjects unique to each body. Look for registration information and details shortly. I would suggest that our Lodges anticipate sending representatives to this great opportunity to learn and share ideas with our Masonic leaders.
I wanted to give you advanced notice of the annual Grand Lodge Holiday Nuts fundraiser put on by our Grand Lodge ladies. The proceeds from the sales go toward their charities, which are the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Scottish Rite Children’s Learning Centers and the El Kalah Transportation Fund. Our ladies will be using a new vendor this year and the quality of the nuts and candy will be unsurpassed, yet the pricing will be about the same. Look for details and order brochures in a few weeks.
